Bought this DVD player and it showed up over a week and a half later even though it shipped from a city less than 400 miles away. The mounting screws were not in the box, so I had to run to the hardware store and purchase some. I installed unit and it worked great for about 5 minutes. The picture began to flutter and then blacked out. I checked all connections three times. The unit would not power off and I could not get a solid picture. I now have mounting holes for this unit in my headliner and there are no more available.

good purchase value for XO Vision 12.2" Ws Overhead DVD Player. Color and pictures are good, sound is fair. FM and remote headphone are very convenience features. I would recommend to buy this reasonable price overhead DVD Player.

As we have frequent car trips of 2 hours to visit family on weekends, we picked up this DVD player for our 20 month old toddler. Our trips are now happy trips. This is a perfect size, the picture and sound are great. It easily plugs into any TV where we stay to view movies on a standard size TV for the family.

Most importantly it works well and our trips are now comfortable for everyone and she no longer minds the time it takes to get there. The battery does last two hours but we just plug it in to the included car adapter and we don't worry about it.

This player is so easy to run you don't really need the instructions.

Great Buy.

It is easy to use, has a great picture and sound, charger and car adapter included at a low, affordable price. Great product, you won't regret it!

I'm not usually the type to write in, but we have had this DVD player for 7 months now and it was worth every penny. I bought it for a cross country trip for my two and three year old expecting it to last 100 hours of play max before it began to break. I WAS WRONG--this thing has had easily over 1,000 hours of play and is still going strong (we don't have a TV and thus use this player on a daily basis).

Moreover, this player has endured all the rough handling of daily life with kids--juice spills, dropping, popping open the cover while the DVD is still playing, a two year old trying to get the DVD on the center ring and repeatedly failing, repeated and very rough pressing of buttons and switches, tug of war between fighting toddlers, having the power cord ripped out, tripped over, taken in and out a dozen times in a minute, sitting in a hot car in the middle east (130 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures no kidding), sand from the beach and the desert (again, we live in the middle east so sand is literally in the air here), etc.

AND STILL IT IS GOING STRONG WITH ALMOST TWO HOURS OF BATTERY LIFE, NOT A SINGLE BROKEN PART AND NO FREEZING!

3 stars for quality of playback, remembering place on DVD when powered down elegantly.

However if you are using this for your kids the DVP-FX750 has several very serious design flaws, especially if you are using this in a vehicle:

1. The player will charge only if powered off (it will not play a DVD and charge at the same time).
The unit is frequently without power when out of the vehicle, unless we bring it inside to charge overnight. (our 12v accessory ports are not powered when the vehicle is off).

2. The (huge) remote has no on/off switch.
The only way to turn the unit on/off is using a switch on the side of the unit (can be hard to get to when mounted in a vehicle)

3. The hold button is directly adjacent to the POWER button. We frequently end up turning the player off when only trying to turn off/on the hold.

4. The hold button does not disable the eject button.
The hold button is useless for preventing kids from interrupting playing.

5. There is no easy way to adjust brightness
Our other players have a button to adjust brightness, for this player it's buried in the menu tree.

6. There is no easy way to adjust screen width
Our other players have a button to stretch 4:3 content, this player buries it in a menu tree.

7. The unit is very finicky about how the disks are loaded. Until we got used to this, we would often get the "could not load dvd" message because one side of the DVD was not properly pressed in to the spindle.

8. Battery life is short compared to our other player.

Most of the above problems would not be a big deal for an adult, however if you are getting this for your kids there are much better options available.

This is a great portable dvd player. I bought this for my boyfriend so he didn't have to watch his dvds on his laptop in bed. The volume is loud! I can hear it in the other room, and I have had to ask him to turn it down a couple of times. It's lightweight and easy to carry. The picture quality is great as well. Overall, I am very impressed with this, and coming from Sony, I knew it would be a dependable brand. I ended up buying one for myself (except I got the white one).

I purchased this DVD player for my children. When I had it installed the audio output was so weak that I had to purchase a booster, which cost an extra $50. Within a week of being installed a piece came off from around the laser eye of the player, causing the wires to rub along the disc, which stopped the player from working. We were able to get the wires pushed back inside enough to play the movies. But now two weeks later the door for the DVD is broken and will not shut. I have had this for a little over a month, and am now out the cost of the player, $50 for the booster, and $200 to install it. Do yourself a favor, and buy a better model. You get what you pay for. And I got garbage.

At first look this seems like a great deal, and it probably would be if the player that was sent to me was actually functioning. I disconnected the headliner of my car and wired this puppy up and it was DOA. If you are installing yourself, imagine how pissed you will be to find out the damn thing doesn't work after you already invested some time into it.

One thing that I will say is that the customer service was helpful and they are in the process of issuing me a refund. I purchased a PYLE 10.4" model and the quality is ten-fold. You can tell that a lot more care went into making the PYLE over this model.

I have read a lot of people saying that the units don't come with IR, but they all have settings that you just have to turn on in the settings menu, so don't be afraid to buy because of that, but be aware of the quality of this machine.

I wrote this to be helpful and I hope that it helps you make a more informed decision. The PYLE was just under $200 and is a WAY better machine!

Firstly, let me state up front my one major gripe about this DVD player: the documentation is not very spectacular, especially the documentation regarding the installation. There is an included wiring diagram (12V+/-, Dome Light, RCAs for input/output, etc.) but no template for cutting the headliner, no pictures describing how to install, etc. I recognize that this sort of thing is probably not made with the do-it-yourself-er in mind, but some rudimentary instructions would have been appreciated so I wouldn't have had to make it up as I went along!

Having said that, however, the thing works pretty darn well. The DVD player itself is integrated into the back of the LCD screen and works similarly to a DVD player in a computer - pop open the lid and press the DVD down onto the spindle locking it in place, then close the lid. The DVD motor is fairly quiet and the disk loads quickly. The screen opens to about 90° and rotates around the central metal post so that it can be aimed at the driver or passenger... a nice feature when you need to adjust something on the screen and your backseat children are too little to use the remote.

The FM transmitter has a small range of frequencies that can used to interface directly with your car's FM tuner, but the frequencies don't extend the full range of the FM spectrum, so it's conceivable that you might not be able to find a station in your area that is sufficiently devoid of FM signal; this means that the FM transmitter might not work spectacularly in your area because of interference with other stations. If you turn the FM transmitter off, you have the option of playing the sound through the small speakers included in the unit that lie directly underneath the hollow that the folded screen occupies. These speakers are of average quality and low volume, so they probably will not be spectacularly functional during noisy highway driving. There is an RCA line-out that can be used to interface with an existing input on the car's stereo, if one happens to be present.

The included USB port seems to work quite well - choosing this input brings up a file-browser menu that allows you to select the file that you wish to view. I tested the functionality with two movies that were encoded using the XVID (open-source DivX-equivalent) codec and the movies played extremely well.

The build quality feels a little cheap, but one must remember that this is a budget model. The good news is that the USB functionality helps to guarantee that player will continue to be useful in the event that the DVD drive ceases to work.
